I answered a call from a technician in the field recently who wanted status feedback on clothes dryers in a small laundry facility. The technician wanted to monitor the current flow of three different dryers. If one or more dryers became active, a booster fan should also be activated to pull the exhaust air out of the duct system.
This sounds like a great application for our RIB® current sensors and dry contact input RIB®relays! The devices utilized in this setup are:
- One (1) RIB01BDC dry contact input relay device
- Three (3) RIBXGTA current sensors (I chose a model with an adjustable threshold so that a false-positive condition may be avoided.)
The diagram, below, illustrates this setup:
I always enjoy problem solving during technical calls, so bring on the interesting setups and applications! It’s great to hear how our products are being used in the real world, and it helps me when I’m designing future products.
